Presentation by Journalist Alison Weir
For decades the U.S. has given more money to Israel than to any other nation;
in 2024 it amounted to $63 million per day. It is essential for Americans to learn how our money
is used, and how this impacts us.
Alison traveled to Gaza and the West Bank in February-March 2001 as a freelance reporter. When
she returned, she founded the American nonprofit organization If Americans Knew. She has spoken
at hundreds of campuses and other venues around the United States and abroad.
The event is free and open to the public.
Alison Weir bio:
Alison Weir is the founder and executive director of If Americans Knew, a nonprofit organization
that provides information on Israel, Palestine, and the US connection, and president of the
Council for the National Interest.
Her interest in the issue began in early 2001 when she traveled alone throughout the West Bank
and Gaza as a freelance journalist at the height of the Second Intifada.
She writes and speaks widely on the issue, including talks at Harvard, Stanford, Yale, UC
Berkeley, UCLA, Columbia, the Naval Postgraduate Institute, Georgetown, the Fletcher School of
Law and Diplomacy and hundreds of other campuses and venues, including the National Press Club,
briefings on Capital Hill, and talks in England, Wales, Canada, Malaysia, China, Iraq, and Iran.
She is the author of "Against Our Better Judgment: The Hidden History of How the U.S. Was Used
to Create Israel," an Amazon best-seller that has sold over 50,000 copies.
